The Brookes had ruled Sarawak for 100 years prior to its falling to the Japanese in 1942. The last of White Rajahs, Charles Vyner Brooke, recognized he lacked the resources to rebuild his shattered country. He opted to cede Sarawak to Britain as a Crown Colony.

Sarawak Rubber Export Coupons 1941
1876 - 1,919 rubber seedlings reach Ceylon, planted at Henarathgoda Botanical Gardens
1877 - 22 rubber seedlings from Ceylon send to Singapore, 11 planted in Singapore Botanic Gardens, 9 send to Kuala Kangsar, 2 to Malacca
1879 - 28 rubber seedlings from Ceylon send to India and Burma
1895 - Henry Nicholas Ridley discover rubber tapping technique
1897 - 345 acres of rubber plantation in Federated Malay States
1905 - 43,435 acres of rubber plantation in Federated Malay States
1922 - 2,260,000 acres of rubber plantation in Malaya
Under the plan, a "Bank" system was established crediting European Estates with estimated output and export of natural rubber. Rubber Export Coupons were issued of native smallholder planters.

Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2021 : LFSA 25th Anniversary
Bank Negara Malaysia issuedcommemorative coins in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA).
The commemorative coins will be issued in two denominations:
- Coloured Sterling Silver with Sapphire Stone Commemorative Coin (proof)
For the first time, Bank Negara Malaysia will issue numismatic coins with sapphire stone inserts. The coin weighs 31 grams and is made of sterling silver with 92.5 purity. It has a face value of RM10 and will be sold at RM286 a piece. The mintage quantity is 1,000 pieces.
- Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U) Commemorative Coin
This coin weighs 8.5 grams, and is made of copper and several other metals. It has a face value of RM1 and will be sold at RM13.20 a piece. The mintage quantity is 10,000 pieces.
Obverse
The text “LABUAN FINANCIAL SERVICES AUTHORITY” is shown on the left circumference of the coins, while on the right circumference “1996-2021” is depicted to mark 25 years of LFSA’s establishment. The map of Labuan is featured on a diamond-cut 3D surface with Labuan Financial Park – where LFSA is headquartered – marked out with a sapphire stone insert on the sterling silver coin. This geographic representation signifies the multi-faceted landscape of Labuan IBFC and its significance to the Labuan economy, and of the important role played by LFSA as the regulatory body enforcing IBFC laws.
Reverse
The text “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA”, as the issuing authority of these numismatic coins, is shown on the top circumference of the coin followed by the official LFSA25 logo in the centre. The text of “10 RINGGIT” and “1 RINGGIT” as the face value of the coins are shown at the bottom circumference of the, accompanied by the LFSA25 event tagline, “A Journey of Dedication, Determination and Dynamism”.

Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2021 : JPJ 75th Anniversary
Bank Negara Malaysia issued commemorative coins in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ).
The commemorative coins will be issued in two denominations:
1. Coloured Sterling Silver Commemorative Coin (proof)
A coin made of sterling silver with 92.5 purity measuring 31 grams in weight. It has a face value of RM10 to be sold at RM253 a piece. The mintage quantity is 1,000 pieces.
2. Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U) Commemorative Coin
A coin made of copper and several other metals measuring 8.5 grams in weight. It has a face value of RM1 to be sold at RM13.20 a piece. The mintage quantity is 10,000 pieces.
Obverse
The text "JABATAN PENGANGKUTAN JALAN" is inscribed around the upper circumference of the coin. The image of a road tax sticker with JPJ 75 plate number highlights the main function of JPJ in regulating the registration and licensing of motor vehicles. Images of a steering wheel with the JPJ logo in the centre depicts the control and the direction of the agency to move forward.
Reverse
The text "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" as the issuing authority of numismatic coins is featured at the upper circumference of the coin. The official logo of the JPJ75 celebration is featured in the middle against the background of a circuit board design, which symbolises JPJ's move towards modernisation and digitalisation. The official slogan of the celebration "DIGITALISASI MELESTARI INTEGRITI" is placed under the celebration logo and the face value of 10 RINGGIT and 1 RINGGIT are inscribed at the lower circumference of the respective coin.

Obverse
The text “SAMBUTAN JUBLI EMAS PERKESO” is inscribed around the upper circumference of the coin, as well as a tagline “PRIHATIN LIMA DEKAD DAN SELAMANYA” at the lower circumference of the coin. The centre of the coin shows the image of an opened umbrella from the top formed by 50 monogrammed figures adapted from SOCSO's official logo, which symbolises 50 years of providing protection to the people.
Reverse
The text “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" as the issuing authority of numismatic coins is featured at the upper circumference of the coin, followed by the official logo of the PERKESO50 celebration in the middle against the background of a 3-dimensional wave design.
