Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2024 : Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relations 50th anniversary

 



Obverse – The design pays tribute to the enduring friendship, collaboration, and mutual respect between Malaysia and China over the past five decades. The coin design features a Malayan tiger and a giant panda, icons of both countries. They were paired side by side against an infinite loop, symbolising the long-standing and close relationship between the two countries.

Reverse – The name “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority of the numismatic coins is shown on the right circumference of the coin, along with the face value of “10 RINGGIT” for sterling silver or “1 RINGGIT” for Nordic gold. Traditional textile motifs of songket and Chinese floral motifs are depicted on the yin-yang symbol, embodying the complementary and friendly relationship between the two countries.


Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2024 : RISDA 50th anniversary

The commemorative coins for RISDA  are made of sterling silver with 92.5% purity and weigh 31 grams. Each coin has a face value of RM10 and will be sold at RM330 per piece.



Obverse – The design concept of the coin is inspired by the critical mission of RISDA, which was established to improve the socio-economic well-being of the rubber smallholder community in Malaysia. A rubber tapper is featured prominently on the front side of the coin. The top left of the coin depicts images of the other products by the smallholder community, brought to market with RISDA’s support through RisSMart. The silhouettes of a child and a graduate on the right side of the coin signify RISDA's efforts in human capital development.

Reverse – The name “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority of the numismatic coins is shown on the right circumference of the coin and the face value of “10 RINGGIT” for sterling silver or “1 RINGGIT” for Nordic gold. The logo for RISDA’s 50th anniversary is featured on the top of the coin and is set against the background of a stylised depiction of a rubber tree trunk.


Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2024 : Jabatan Kerja Raya 150th anniversary

The commemorative coin for JKR features a unique hexagon-shaped coin – Malaysia’s first – akin to the shape of JKR’s logo. The coin is made of sterling silver with 92.5% purity and weighs 29.9 grams. It has a face value of RM10. The coin is packed in a premium wooden box and is sold at RM440 per piece.

Obverse – The design concept of the coin memorialises JKR’s important role in national infrastructure development over the last 150 years. At the centre of the coin is Menara Kerja Raya, JKR’s primary office complex. The coin background features geometric patterns inspired by design elements from Menara Kerja Raya. The silhouette of a group of construction crew on the left side of the coin is symbolic of JKR’s workforce, the backbone of the implementation of development projects and maintenance of infrastructure assets.

Reverse – The name “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority of the numismatic coins is shown on the top of the coin. The logo for JKR’s 150th anniversary is shown on the left side of the coin, while the face value of “10 RINGGIT” is depicted on the right. Repeated silhouettes of the shape of JKR’s logo are used as the background of this coin.


Obverse – Menara Kerja Raya is depicted on the left side of the coin, while a collection of various other government buildings and infrastructures undertaken by JKR over the years are shown on the top right side. The bottom right side features silhouettes of a construction crew at work.

Reverse – The name “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority of the numismatic coins is shown on the top of the coin. The logo for JKR’s 150th anniversary is shown at the centre of the coin. The coin also features geometric patterns inspired by design elements from Menara Kerja Raya. The face value of the coin – 1 RINGGIT – is shown at the bottom of the coin.

Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2024 : Installation of Agong XVII

 Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) today announces the issuance of commemorative coins in conjunction with the installation of His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim as the seventeenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 20 July 2024.

The commemorative coin is issued in three denominations:

  1. Gold (proof) Commemorative Coin
    This coin is made of gold with 999.9 purity and weighs 8 grams. It has a face value of RM100 and will be sold at RM3,250 per piece. The mintage quantity is 300 pieces.
  1. Sterling Silver (proof) Commemorative Coin
    This coin is made of sterling silver with 92.5 purity and weighs 31 grams. It has a face value of RM10 and will be sold at RM275 per piece. The mintage quantity is 1,300 pieces.
  1. Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U.) Commemorative Coin
    This coin is made of copper and several other metals and weighs 8.5 grams. The coin has a face value of RM1 and will be sold at RM16.50 per piece. The mintage quantity is 5,000 pieces.
Obverse – The portrait of His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim is featured at the centre of the coin against a stylised black pepper plant motif.

His Majesty’s name, "SULTAN IBRAHIM" is inscribed on the upper circumference of the coin.

Reverse – The centre of the coin depicts the image of the royal insignia of His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong against a stylised black pepper plant motif.

The text "PERTABALAN SERI PADUKA BAGINDA YANG DI-PERTUAN AGONG XVII" is inscribed on the upper circumference of the coin while the text "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" as the issuing authority is shown at the bottom circumference along with the face value of "100 RINGGIT" for gold (proof), "10 RINGGIT" for sterling silver (proof) and "1 RINGGIT" for Nordic gold B.U.

Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2024 : Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara 75th anniversary

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) on 1st July 2024  issued commemorative coins in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).

The commemorative coins will be issued in two denominations:
1. Sterling Silver (proof) Commemorative Coin
This rectangular-shaped coin – Malaysia’s first – is made of sterling silver with 92.5 purity and weighs 32.7 grams. It has a face value of RM10 and will be sold at RM330 per piece. The mintage quantity is 1,000 pieces.
2. Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U.) Commemorative Coin
This coin is made of copper and several other metals and weighs 8.5 grams. The coin has a face value of RM1 and will be sold at RM16.50 per piece. The mintage quantity is 5,000 pieces.

These commemorative coins are also available for sale in a Set of 2, with each set priced at RM385. The set comprises one coloured sterling silver proof coin and one Nordic gold proof coin.



The designs of the commemorative coins are as follows:


1. Sterling Silver (proof) Commemorative Coin
Obverse – The top of the coin features the text “JUBLI INTAN” (diamond jubilee), marking JPN’s 75th anniversary. The left side of the coin features the silhouettes of Malaysian citizens of various age groups. This symbolises JPN’s main function in the registration of important events of an individual. The stylised image of folders on the right side of the coin depicts the diversity of registration records maintained by JPN as the leading agency in record management of the country's population since 1948. Inspired by JPN’s digital transformation in line with the National Digital Identity Plan 2020, the stylised depiction of an iris embodies its latest digitalisation initiatives.
Reverse – The top of the coin features the text “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority. The logo for JPN’s 75th anniversary is shown on the right side of the coin, with a stylised representation of a fingerprint featured on the left. The text “10 RINGGIT” is shown at the bottom left of the coin, representing its face value.



2. Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U.) Commemorative Coin
Obverse – The top circumference features the text “JABATAN PENDAFTARAN NEGARA”, while the bottom circumference features the text “JUBLI INTAN” (diamond jubilee). The design is inspired by JPN’s modernisation aspirations and digital transformation initiatives. The design features the image of a fingerprint encircled by various icons on the top side. These represent JPN's key roles in managing records of birth, identification, marriage, citizenship and death.
Reverse – The top left circumference features the text “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority, with the logo of JPN 75th anniversary featured on the right. The text “1 RINGGIT” is shown at the bottom left of the coin, representing its face value, against the background of a stylised MyKad (identity card) silhouette.

Malaysia Commemorative Coins 2024 : Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang 50th Anniversary

1. Coloured Sterling Silver Commemorative Coin (proof)
This coin is made of sterling silver with 92.5 purity and weighs 31 grams. It has a face value of RM10 and will be sold at RM275 per piece. The mintage quantity is 1,000 pieces.



2. Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated (B.U.) Commemorative Coin
This coin is made of copper and several other metals and weighs 8.5 grams. The coin has a face value of RM1 and will be sold at RM16.50 per piece. The mintage quantity is 5,000 pieces.
These commemorative coins are also available for sale in a Set of 2, with each set priced at RM330. The set comprises one coloured sterling silver proof coin and one Nordic gold proof coin. A total of 1,000 sets will be available for purchase.

Coin design
The design of the commemorative coins is as follows:

Obverse
The obverse depicts the image of a farmer gazing at a harvesting machine and a fertiliser drone, representative of LPP's contribution to modernising and increasing the productivity of agriculture in Malaysia. The image of a paddy plant (highlighted in colour on sterling silver coins only) is depicted on the lower half of the coin, symbolising fertile cultivation. These motifs draw inspiration from LPP’s vision to spearhead the transformation of various farmers' organisations in Malaysia, as well as to promote the development of  competitive and productive farmers. The text “LEMBAGA PERTUBUHAN PELADANG” and “JUBLI EMAS” are also inscribed on the circumference.
 


Reverse
The right circumference of the coin features the text "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" to depict the issuing authority. The logo for LPP’s 50th anniversary (highlighted in colour on sterling silver coins only) is shown at the centre of the coin against the silhouette of various livestock. The text, either “1 RINGGIT” or "10 RINGGIT", is shown at the bottom of the coin, representing its face value.
